Dr. Annie Harvilicz has hardly rested since the fires in LA began, and it’s because she’s doing everything she can to help as many displaced pets as possible. She has turned her old animal hospital into an emergency sanctuary, and even opened up a “Free Pet Store” for anyone in need of supplies for their animals.
After her brother asked her whether she could care for his cat and rabbit when fire forced him to evacuate Dr. Annie realized many other families would also need a temporary home for their pets. She took in dozens.
Dr. Annie is the Chief Medical Officer of the veterinary hospital Animal Wellness Centers in Los Angeles. She is the recipient of the Sherrie Clark Compassion and Caring Award and the Tobey Award for helping lost, abandoned, or homeless dogs and has served on the national leadership council of the Humane Society Veterinary Medical Association. The successful formula for Annie and her staff is their compassion for all. The organization is supported by people who feel the same way.
