Lisa is an American journalist, television presenter, and author. She is currently the host of This is Life with Lisa Ling on CNN, and the former host of Our America with Lisa Ling on OWN. She was a war correspondent and a co-host on The View.
After her gig as The Ultimate Explorer host she claimed in several interviews that it is the hard–news, mettle–testing stories that truly thrill her. During one of her adventures she thought, “I love my life right now being out here in the middle of nowhere, just experiencing history.”
Lisa says, “ I have always been a fiercely independent woman. I learned from my grandmother — the breadwinner in her marriage — that there was nothing that a woman couldn’t do as well as a man. A die-hard feminist, my desire for self-sufficiency didn’t stem from a movement: It was personal.”
