At the age of 48, Nisha Madhulika pursued her love for cooking to gradually become one of the most celebrated chefs of the country. She started her recipe blog in 2007 to beat boredom,and has since uploaded more than 1,000 videos on YouTube so far.
She says, “I had never imagined that my flair for cooking will make me famous one day.” Her cooking videos have received more than 5 million views. She is now one of the most popular chefs in India. Her cooking videos are amongst Asia’s top five most viewed cooking videos on YouTube, and she has a huge fan base from all over the world.
Although she always loved cooking, she never thought that she would be able to create a niche in cooking until she left her job. “When we moved to Noida, I left my job in finance and management in Delhi, as it was getting difficult for me to commute. However, at that time, I was clueless what would I do the whole day. Once my husband showed me a recipe blog. It struck me that even I could start blogging. My husband’s affirmation to go ahead motivated me to start writing from the very next day.”
About 70,000-80,000 people across the world visit Nicha’s studio kitchen daily, through YouTube.
