Vitoria Bueno is a 16-year-old Brazilian ballerina who was born without arms due to a genetic condition — but with a gift for dance — wants others to know this: “We are much bigger than our disabilities, so we have to chase our dreams.” She’s a rising star at her ballet academy in her hometown northeast of Sao Paulo and an inspiration to many with over 150,000 Instagram followers. “For me, my arms are just a detail. I don’t feel like I need them at all,” she says. “I am a role model for people so I am always looking to improve…I learned that I must not give up. Not for me, but for the people who are inspired by me,” she adds.
More than just realizing a dream, the strength and flexibility gained through dance have proven crucial to Vitoria, who does everything from brushing her teeth to picking items off the supermarket shelf with her feet. “There are things she can do with her feet that I can’t do with my hands,” her stepfather says.
Vitoria was featured on Germany’s Got Talent season 15 and is one of the candidates slated to return for another shot at glory. She received the Golden Buzzer and placed second on the German version of the reality program. AGT: All Stars. Vitoria is a regular student at Andrea Falsarella Ballet Academy where she practices Ballet, Tap and Jazz.
